Full Itinerary

Visitors are welcome to explore Nitmiluk National Park, considered one of the top attractions in the Top End.

When travelling south from Darwin in the morning, you will pass through the Adelaide River and Pine Creek townships along the Stuart Highway towards Katherine. You can enjoy the abundant flora and fauna unique to this region of the Northern Territory and listen to your guide’s commentary about the history and culture along the way.

One recommended activity is the NitNit Dreaming Katherine Gorge boat cruise. The cruise takes two hours and passes through towering cliff faces 70m high. The landscape and rock formations display ever-changing colours due to the natural lighting from the sun. During the cruise, you can learn about the Jawoyn people of Katherine, the land’s traditional owners, their culture, and stories. After the cruise, we will visit the picturesque Edith Falls region, which can be visited either before or after the boat cruise, depending on timing.

Visitors can swim in the natural plunge pool of Edith Falls (Leliyn) and enjoy the surrounding area. The route back includes passing through Pine Creek and Adelaide River, allowing for a relaxing evening in Darwin tour. Meals are not included. The driving distance is 780 km. The walking distance is 1 km. The route or itinerary schedule may be altered in response to seasonal weather changes or park closures for traditional landowner ceremonies.
