Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Perth to Kalbarri

The Perth to Exmouth tour departs from Perth at 7:25 am and travels north along the coast. During the tour, the Indian Ocean will enjoy lunch, and a walk with the tour guide will be taken through the rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert. As the evening approaches, the tour will journey through Geraldton before spending the night in Kalbarri.

Meals include lunch and dinner. Accommodation is provided at Kalbarri Backpackers YHA, with a shared bathroom facility in the dorm. The driving distance is 575km. The hike distance is 2km, with a grade 1-2 difficulty level.

Day 2 - Kalbarri - Shark Bay

Today, you can explore Kalbarri National Park. Hike to Nature’s Window for stunning views through a rock formation. Take the Z Bend trail for the best views of the park’s Murchinson Gorge. In the afternoon, head to Shark Bay and visit a beach made of white cockle shells. Tonight, you’ll be staying in Monkey Mia.

The meals provided are breakfast and dinner. The accommodation is the RAC Monkey Mia Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. There is an option to participate in the Kalbarri Abseiling Z-Bend activity. The total driving distance is 450km. The hike distance is 3km with a grade level of 3-4.

Begin your day with an exciting adventure: abseiling down the gorge walls in Kalbarri National Park with Kalbarri Abseil. No experience is required, as training will be provided on-site. Equipment is provided as well. Guests who aren’t participating can take photos for you, or you can bring your camera. This adventure can be arranged during your tour.

Day 3 - Monkey Mia - Coral Bay

In the morning, you will witness a well-known wildlife encounter in Australia. The Monkey Mia Dolphins swim close and are fed in shallow water. Afterwards, relax on the stunning coastline before visiting the Stromatolites. These rock formations are made by a single-celled microbe estimated to be 3.7 billion years old. They are still alive. Tonight, you will journey into Coral Bay and stay overnight near the Ningaloo Reef.

Meals available: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation: Ningaloo Coral Bay Backpacker Dorms or similar (shared bathroom facilities). Driving distance: 580km. Hike distance: 2km Grade 1.

Day 4 - Coral Bay

Explore the Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay. Snorkel the reefs close to the shore. Take a tour to see the offshore reefs. Enjoy the beach and the sun. Travel to Exmouth in the evening.

Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation is provided at Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Activities include swimming with Manta Rays, snorkelling Ningaloo Reef, and taking glass-bottom boat tours. Please note that guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on day four as they return after the bus has left Coral Bay. The driving distance is 155km with a Grade 1 difficulty level.

Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)

You can swim with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. Please note that snorkelling is only available to competent swimmers.

Take a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. The tour includes all necessary equipment, such as wetsuits if needed, and meals throughout the day. Experience the mesmerizing dance of manta rays and enjoy two snorkelling sessions where you can observe a variety of fish, corals, sea turtles, and possibly reef sharks. Additionally, you can visit the turtle sanctuary and observe turtles surfacing for air in the shallows.

Experience a Glass Bottom Boat tour on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours.

Please tour the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours on their glass bottom boat. Learn about the fish and corals under the glass. Choose from 1, 2, or 3-hour journeys. The 1-hour journey is for glass viewing only. The 2-hour trip includes a glass viewing and a snorkel site. The 3-hour trip includes glass viewing, snorkelling, and visiting the turtle sanctuary. See feeding turtles and watch them come up for air in the shallows. The skipper may even try to bring the turtles under the glass for you! Equipment is provided for snorkel tours.

Whaleshark swims cannot be booked on [day 4], as they occur after the bus has already left Coral Bay. All optional activities in Coral Bay must be completed by 3:45-4:00 pm.

Day 5 - Exmouth

Today, you will explore Cape Range National Park. You can witness stunning views of limestone ranges, canyons, and pristine beaches. Don’t miss out on visiting Turquoise Bay, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, and relaxing at Milyering Visitors Center. The tour will end in the late afternoon, making it an incredible way to conclude your Perth to Exmouth tour.

We offer meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will be accommodated in Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. You can go on a Whaleshark or Humpback swim (pre-booking required). The driving distance is 135km, and the hike distance is 1km with a grade 1-2 difficulty level.

Optional Activities: (pre-booking is recommended)

Exmouth Dive Centre offers snorkelling experiences to swim with Whalesharks and Humpback Whales during their seasonal period from March to August. Please note that only competent swimmers are allowed.

Join Exmouth Dive Centre for a day on the water. Start with a reef snorkel and enjoy the coral gardens and fish. You might see turtles or reef sharks. Then, they’ll search for humpback whales and whale sharks with a spotter plane. The humpback whale swim depends on the whale’s willingness. If they’re uncooperative, the plane will search for another group. All equipment is included, including wetsuits if needed. Morning and afternoon tea and lunch are provided buffet-style.

Day 6 - End of the tour in Exmouth

Regrettably, your stay ends today, and check-out is at 10:00 am.

Meals available include breakfast, and guests can extend their stay or make arrangements for their next destination at their own expense.
